Dermott Carr appointed Regional Head – Americas

Dermott Carr, previously managing director at TECOSIM USA, has now taken on the regional head of Americas role for Hinduja Tech and TECOSIM. He will report directly to Prabhas Kumar, the CEO of Hinduja Tech. With this appointment, the company is pooling its strengths, reinforcing its presence in North America, and reaffirming its ambition to be a strong engineering partner for mobility OEMs and their suppliers in the region.

Dermott Carr brings decades of rich experience in the automotive industry, having worked for Daewoo and the globally active automotive suppliers Magna International and Benteler. Before joining TECOSIM in March 2024, he served as Chief Engineer at Metalsa, a North American company specialising in chassis structures for US manufacturers. There, he was responsible for implementing the technical aspects of the electric system strategy.

Dermott studied Mechanical Engineering at Middlesex University in the UK and the Letterkenny Institute of Technology in Ireland.

“I’m very excited about my expanded role. Together, we have ambitious regional goals, clearly focusing on the mobility sector. We aim to strengthen our customer relationships and continue growing our team across the Americas,” says Dermott.

Since December 2024, TECOSIM has been part of Hinduja Tech Ltd., a global provider of engineering and R&D technologies focused on mobility. A team of 2,650 engineers worldwide delivers comprehensive solutions — from powertrain and body engineering to vehicle integration, virtual validation, embedded electronics, and digital technologies.
