TECOSIM Group: growth in 2022 – well positioned for new year
Despite the continuing crises worldwide, the TECOSIM Group is looking ahead to the new business year 2023 with optimism. This is aided by several long-term, strategy-oriented orders from the automotive industry which TECOSIM managed to win last year. The group has also consolidated its international presence, broadened its expertise in the energy business segment and formed a crucial partnership in virtual benchmarking. “2022 was already a record year for us,” states pleased TECOSIM Group Managing Director Udo Jankowski. “Our workforce exceeded 600 employees for the first time. We are also able to announce a new best brand in turnover. It’s our aim to expand even further in 2023.”
TECOSIM managed to widen its energy sector activities last year, although there is still room for expansion in this industry. “We’ve acquired new clients in this field. It still only accounts for a small proportion of our overall order volume but we aim to increase this share over the next few years. We’re working on this objective in global teams in multiple countries. Among other things, our participation in a number of research projects is allowing us to continually broaden our expertise in this future-oriented sector. This positions us as an expert contact partner for development tasks related to energy transition,” affirms Dr Torben Birker, Member of the Management Board.
With fourteen offices in six countries on three continents, TECOSIM considers itself well equipped to meet future requirements and is able to offer clients an optimum service from across the world. “Alongside customer focus, greater flexibility and consultancy expertise, this also includes the best available price,” declares Udo Jankowski. The aim is for all international subsidiaries to grow in 2023. Special attention will be given to the new US subsidiary operating in the Californian city of Irvine since last year.
Virtual benchmarking saves money and time, a crucial competitive factor for OEMs. TECOSIM considers itself to have a strong presence in this market thanks to almost twenty years’ experience with its self developed TEC|BENCH solution and a new partnership with A2MAC1. Established in late 2022, this collaboration focuses on electric vehicles and is currently gaining momentum. The two companies complement each other perfectly with their ranges. Clients benefit from synergy effects and obtain extensive added value. They gain from lower-priced simulation results and models, which they can use for their own virtual benchmarking, all based on the virtual vehicle models and data provided by the French market leader.
Torben Birker sees potential for growth in the electromagnetic compatibility simulation segment. TECOSIM has established its own expertise hub in this field and managed to recruit EMC experts over recent years. Consequently, he believes the engineering company to have all it needs to provide greater vehicle digitisation and undertake development projects related to automotive networking, including autonomous driving.
“We meet our clients’ requests as a service provider. The more effectively we’re able to do this, the more satisfied they are. This also entails having the greatest talents in our team,” affirms Udo Jankowski. Finding suitable engineers, developing their potential further and matching their expectations to the company’s visions remain a key task for the entire TECOSIM management for 2023 and beyond. “We’re permanently working on our appeal as an employer. Our global presence also offers an advantage in this respect since we’re able to provide interested employees an international career within the group.”
